The Yellow-Bellied Knights played in the final weekend of the Junior Four Nations Chess League at the Hinckley Island Hotel. All the other teams are from big clubs (some >150 junior members), many have
grandmaster coaching sessions every week. The Yellow-Bellied Knights are a group of 4 children who have become friends at tournaments they have played in around Lincolnshire so we thought we would enter them as a
team. No club backing, no professional coaching. And they won Division 2 in their first season with 4 wins and one draw out of 5 rounds. It was for under 18s, the ages of the Yellow-Bellied Knights are 14, 13, 10
and 8.
